MXP526 Product Data
The MXP526 PXIe Switch PCIe cable adapter card is designed to create a flexible and scalable PXIe fabric solution. Combined with the PCIe Host card MXH532, the MXP526 enables servers and embedded systems to connect to PXIe systems utilizing full PCIe Gen5 wire speed. Multi-chassis configurations can be set up by daisy chaining several MXP526 boards or connecting two MXP526 directly to a MXH532.
PCI Express Gen 5.0
The MXP526 is designed for PCIe Gen 5.0 link speeds in the backplane and via the front panel PCIe cable port. It will auto negotiate to the highest speed supported (PCIe Gen5 - Gen1) by each component connected to individual port. This allows you to mix various generation of equipment without scarifying performance between high speed components.
PCIe Cable ports
The MXP526 switch has a quad SFF-8614 PCIe cable connectors to allow connectivity to external servers and IO devices. The cable port can be used as two independent x8 links or one x16 link. Each SFF-8614 connector has a protected 3.3V supply to support up to four PCIe Gen5 AOCs. The MXP526 is carefully designed for maximum copper cable lengths. Backplane support
The MXP526 follows the PXISA PXIE-1 rev 2.3 and PXISA PCIE-5 Hardware specification 1.1. The backplane configuration supports PCIe x16 +PCIe x8 and PCIe 4x4x4x4x. The MXP526 supports backplans running at any speed PCIe 1.0 to PCIe 5.0.
Software support
The eXpressWare software distribution adds a PXI System Library integration (PXI Software Specification Revision 2.5) which allows PXIe software to discover and enumerate PXI chassis.
The software for the MXP526 must be installed on a host also having the MXH532 card installed. Please select and install the Board Management Package option with the installer to install the PXI System Library.
