Dolphin’s MXP509 PXIe / CompactPCI Express card is a powerful building block for PXIe systems. This PCIe 5.0 board enables PXIe systems to connect to other PXIe, CompactPCI Serial or and IO expansion systems.

MXP509 Product Data
The 3U MXP509 PXIe Peripheral Module is designed to create a flexible and scalable CompactPCI Express / PXIe expansion solution. The MXP509 enables connectivity to other PXIe chassis utilizing the MXP526 PXIe System Slot Module or to other compliant IO devices.
PCI Express Gen 5.0
The MXP509 is designed for PCIe Gen 5.0 link speeds in the backplane and via the front panel PCIe cable port. It will auto negotiate to the highest speed supported (PCIe Gen5 - Gen1) by each component connected to individual port. This allows you to mix various generation of equipment without scarifying performance between high speed components.
PCIe IO Expansion
Several PXIe systems can be interconnected to multi rack system using direct PCIe 5.0 cables. The host PXIe chassis uses one or more MXP509 cards. Each target PXIe system uses a MXP526 or a MXP528 in the system slot. The MXP509 can also connect directly to other PCIe target devices compliant to the PCI-SIG External Cabling Specification 3.0/4.0/5.0. PCIe Cable ports
The MXP509 module has a physical quad SFF-86144 PCIe cable connector to allow connectivity to external PCIe devices but only the two upper ports are available for connectivity. Both ports can be used as two independent x4 links or one x8 links. Each SFF-8644 connector has a protected 3.3V supply to support AOCs. The MXP509 is carefully designed for maximum copper cable lengths. Fiber optics extends this distance to 100 meters. More info on cables for the MXP509.
Backplane support
The MXP509 follows the PXISA PXIE-1 rev 2.3 and PXISA PCIE-5 Hardware specification 1.1.
