Dolphin unveils broad range of database acceleration solutions for MySQL

 

MySQL Conference & Expo 2009, SANTA CLARA, Calif. – April 21, 2009 -- Dolphin ICS, a global provider of ultra low-latency and high-bandwidth solutions for application acceleration, today demonstrated the breadth of its acceleration product line for Sun Microsystems’ MySQL database. Typically noted for its leading cluster interconnect technology,  Dolphin today showcased a broad range of solutions from accelerating MySQL applications in single node implementations, to dual node replication configurations, to flexible multi-node configurations using state-of-the-art high-performance storage technology. Dolphin highlighted the benefits to MySQL performance by using its recently announced StorExpress PCI Express flash memory appliances. Dolphin also continued to demonstrate 2-4 times speed-up of MySQL applications in cluster configurations.**

Dolphin and LINBIT have partnered to offer leading edge high-availability solutions based on DRBD and Dolphin Express. “With replication, it is critical to offer fail-safe mirroring while not negatively impacting the performance of your on-going business. We can achieve that with DRBD using Dolphin Express.” said Florian Haas, Partner Relationship Manager at LINBIT.  “Our customers have seen up to a 6x performance improvement with the Dolphin Express solution versus Ethernet**.”
